How did you meet this horse?
I first saw him when he was competing at Landsmót and was totally amazed by his gated and his presence. He came in 9th in A-flokkur at that Landsmót.
Can you describe the character of this horse?
Amazing. The 8-year-old daughter of the breeder can ride him while at the same time he is this amazing superstar horse. Just like an Icelandic stallion is supposed to be. He has the sweetest character and also has incredible gaits.
How long have you had Óskahringur?
He is still owned by the breeder, so he has ever only been owned by one family. So he has never changed owners before.
What is the most memorable moment together?
When he came in 9th in A-flokkur in Landsmót 2018 and 6st in the Icelandic championships in 5 gait in 2018. That was just incredible!
How is Óskahringur as a riding horse?
We will let the judges speak! Óskahringur got 9 for spirit in his FIZO. They called him eager, enthusiastic and cooperative.
What is the highest score of the horse?
He was assessed in breeding shows with an 8.45 in total. He scored 8.59 for rideability with 9 on pace and spirit. In competitions on Landsmót and at Icelandic championships. In number in Gæðingakeppni A-Class (fivegait) 8,73.
He has proven himself over and over again as an amazing competition horse. He is top league at the same time it is amazing how sweet he is. He can also be kept with geldings. He is also stunningly beautiful. Jet black with a star and with one blue eye. So he has the splash gen.

That’s just how it goes for professional breeders, riders, farms…. I guess. It’s time for him to make new owners very happy!
This is an experienced competition horse that could take his new rider very very far in fivegait competition. Since Óskahringur has an amazing character he could also be the perfect horse to take a younger rider all the way to the top. He would also be great as a breeding stallion. We do not want someone for Óskahringur that will just burn him out for one season and then sell him again. We rather have someone who falls in love and wants to keep him longterm and also take good care of him.
