Can you describe the character of this horse?

Confident, forward and definitely not as shy as he was as a colt.

Selbstbewußt, lauffreudig und mittlerweile nicht mehr so schüchtern wie er als Fohlen war.

How is Kvistur as a riding horse?

Extremely exciting young stallion with an unusually good pedigree,  very special marks (Carrier of Splash-Gene with a blue eye and a star). He is fivegaited with a lot of clear-beated natural tölt up to a very high speed. His conformation is modern with a well-set neck, long legs and he is rather big for his age. At the same time, he is elegant with a stable and correct bone structure.

At the moment he is in training with Kristin Lárusdottir

Extrem spannender Junghengst mit außergewöhnlich guter Abstammung und sehr individuellen Abzeichen (Splash-Gen-Träger mit blauem Auge und Stern). Zeigt sich fünfgängig mit viel taktklarem Naturtölt bis ins hohe Tempo. Steht ganz im modernen Typ mit hoch angesetztem Hals, sehr langbeinig und für sein Alter schon ziemlich groß – dabei aber fein gebaut mit solidem und korrektem Knochenfundament.

Aktuell befindet er sich im Training bei Kristin Lárusdottir.

What makes this horse so special?

His siblings on his mother’s as well as on his father’s side are all very well evaluated in breeding show and his father has been very successful in competitions, which is why this stallion is surely a very promising youngster.

Seine Geschwister mütterlicher- und väterlicherseits sind bisher alle mit guten FIZO-Ergebnissen bewertet worden und sein Vater läuft seit Jahren extrem erfolgreich im Sport, deshalb ist dieser Hengst in jedem Fall ein äußerst vielversprechender Nachwuchskandidat.

Why is it time for you to part?

After 46 years, the famous farm Kjartansstaðir is closing its doors. All pastures and stables have already been sold and the horses have to leave the fields quickly (at the end of January 2021) In its long and successful breeding history, the farm has brought out 4 World Champions, a few Landsmótwinners, many participants at Landsmót, as well as a considerable number of horses with honorary prize for offsprings. Among them was also the first mare with the honorary prize for offsprings.

Nach 46 Jahren wird das renommierte Gestüt Kjartansstaðir aufgelöst. Alle Weiden und Stallungen sind bereits verkauft und die Pferde müssen die Wiesen kurzfristig (Ende Januar 2021) verlassen. In seiner langen und sehr erfolgreichen Zuchtgeschichte hat das Gestüt 4 Weltmeister, einige Landsmótsieger, sehr viele Landsmótteilnehmer und eine beachtliche Anzahl von Ehrenpreishengsten und Ehrenpreisstuten hervorgebracht, darunter auch die erste Ehrenpreisstute Islands

This young stallion can surely be a great riding horse, who could be successful in breeding as well as in competitions.

Der junge Hengst wird sicherlich ein tolles Reitpferd werden, welcher in Zucht und Sport glänzen kann.
